This guide to 11 great places to eat along the line was researched and produced by volunteer supporters. Although the competition is now closed, the guide still gives you a great selection of restaurants and gastro pubs that place a special emphasis on locally sourced ingredients. Getting
out into the countryside

The Heart of Wessex Line has great connections to the lovely Kennet
and Avon canal, particularly at Bath, Bradford on Avon and Avoncliff.
We have produced a detailed guide to connecting to the canal from the railway,
with route maps and ideas for days out on bike or foot:
